A long time ago I knew some people I spoke to from another country who use to play lan games from Friday night to Monday morning solid every weekend. They brought a lot of caffeine drinks with them. Somehow I didn't believe them so they showed me a video of their setup of monitors on a living room table. They mainly played Counter Strike.

A good way to stay awake is to try as hard as possible to fall asleep. I've never had myself forced asleep, I just need to coax sleep on, or let it think I care not about it, and then it pounces on me and ferrys me to dreamland.
