Also, fuck off. People can write movies about what they damn well please. I don't know much about aggiecouch but he doesn't seem like a tool, so I imagine he's writing a zombie movie because he wants to make a zombie movie, not because he's got his finger on the pulse and thinks that's what's hot right now. Imagine telling George Lucas sci-fi had already been played out in the '50s and '60s, and he should try something else.
If he wanted to make a movie about vikings, he would. Don't get me wrong, though, I love vikings.
And zombies are fucking awesome. But no, not funny. In fact, I've never heard of anyone thinking zombies were funny. I mean, I've heard jokes and stuff about zombies, but never of anyone who thought zombies were funny simply by virtue of being zombies.

Look, regardless of what you say, reading his original statement it still says "I'm writing a zombie film. And you can't say Shaun Of The Dead wasn't funny." See the keyword there is "and", and though it was used incorrectly (never put "and" or "but" at the start of a sentence, people) it still ties the two thoughts together, making it easy to interpret the post as being "I have these two things to say about your point regarding zombies not being funny". Particularly since he started the post with "RE: Zombies not being funny".
Also, aggiecouch, I just noticed this:
No one said anything about your movie being a zombie comedy. At all. In fact, no one even directly addressed the fact that you were writing anything at all until you yourself brought it up again.

I'm also pretty sure "RE: Zombies not being funny" was JM.
And he was using the "and" at the beginning of the second sentence like this:
Yes, the way he phrased it was easy to misinterpret, and that's his fault, but when I saw you had misinterpreted it, I corrected you.
And if you're going to be all serious about using and at the beginning of an otherwise fine sentence, you'd do well to note that "at all" isn't even a complete thought.
EDIT: "it," "do."
EDIT: I was entirely wrong about something, and that wrongness has been excised. Other mistakes fixed.

And Orator, people do think zombies are funny. Hence the stupid zombie game on facebook that invites members to "start biting chumps." There is indeed a whole culture of thinking the shambling brain-eating nuisances are hillarious.

Seems like a complete sentence to me.
And Civ, that's awful.

And I agree that's awful, if you're referring either to a ) the fact that I am willingly discussing grammar on the internet or b ) the stupid facebook game.

Civ: Victorian wankery. Wonderful!
Also, Orator, I wish I lived in the world you live in where you didn't know anything about people making zombie jokes. That sounds like a wonderful place!

Ah, yes, the common usage argument.
I've played pool before where you can just move a ball that's in the way of your cue, if you move it back afterward.
I've played Monopoly where for whatever reason some money can be put under the Free Parking space and if you land on it, you can collect it.
I have no problem with people who do that.
But if we are going to start talking about the rules, then admit it.
It's fucking wrong.
Hecc, you seem pretty pleased about your very original indeed joke-going-over-your-head bit.
And even if it was a joke it was still inaccurate to say no one had brought it up.
And Chef, I don't know. I guess I got the special zombie-and-virus free Internet.
Seriously, I heard of a woman who got high-speed internet installed, and five hours later she had forty-seven viruses on her computer.
What the hell.

Can you maybe...I don't know...stop jumping all over everything I post? Seriously I can't even say anything on here lately without you waltzing in and bitching about it afterwards.
Dealing with you over the past few days is enough to make me completely stop posting here. It's getting absolutely ridiculous.
