Dover childcare workers charged over toddler 'fight club'
News Limited Network
August 22, 2012 6:12AM
THREE US childcare workers have been arrested after they allegedly arranged for organised battles between toddlers that they also filmed.
The Hands of Our Future daycare in Delaware has had its licence suspended and workers Tiana Harris, 49, Lisa Parker, 47, and Estefania Myers, 21, were charged on two counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, and nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The Delaware Online news website reports that the two three-year-olds punched each other in the face while seven other children were in the area. Ms Harris and Ms Myers were "shown and heard laughing and encouraging the altercation."
The website said Ms Parker grabbed the child that was crying and wanting to stop and pushed him back into the fray.
Parents were invited to attend a 45-minute information session on Monday night with police and social services but were not shown a copy of the video.
The incident, which was filmed five months ago, was discovered at the weekend by a police officer who saw the video on a mobile phone.
Dover Police Capt Tim Stump described the event as "shocking, disturbing and infuriating."

Had I been a parent I would have been very upset finding out about this going on behind my back, robbing me of the chance to adequately train my son up and rename him 'Rowdy Roddy Diapers'. -

George Lucas Blames 'Star Wars' Critics for Killing Series
Sci-fi filmmaker hurt by harsh feedback from some fans about the prequels
By David Eckstein
For any fans awaiting future "Star Wars" films from George Lucas, it's going to be a long wait. The creator of the famed series says he's not going to make any more of these movies and that he's essentially retiring. And for that he blames the harsh feedback from certain fans.
"Why would I make any more when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?" he tells The New York Times.
Lucas continues to bash these critics despite the fact that their appreciation for the series helped it generate $4.4 billion in worldwide box-office sales.
"On the Internet, all those same guys that are complaining I made a change are completely changing the movie," Lucas says. "I'm saying: 'Fine. But my movie, with my name on it, that says I did it, needs to be the way I want it.'"
Lucas drew strong attacks from "Star Wars" fans for characters like Jar Jar Binks and for digital additions to the DVDs and re-releases of the six-part series.
"I'm moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff," he says.

Well if surrounding yourself with yes-men, firing anyone who doesn't do their job your way or agree with you, change scripts over weekends and hand it to the actors just before they deliver said lines after spending weekend learning the old lines in a green featureless void and expect great results after first take, to make prequels for a trilogy you've taken no notice of dialogue-wise, doesn't point a big fat finger squarely at you the viewer, I don't know what does. -

Star Wars fan chokes wife after toy damage
07:30 AEST Fri Nov 4 2011
By ninemsn staff
A Star Wars fanatic strangled his Thai bride to death after she destroyed his collection of toys and memorabilia in Manchester.
Ricki La Touche, 30, told the Preston Crown Court Pornpilai Srisroy, 28, damaged his Darth Vadar and Luke Skywalker memorabilia as part of a campaign to "make his life hell," the Daily Mail reports.
La Touche choked her to death during a subsequent argument in April at their home in Leigh, Greater Manchester, before going to his mother's house to tell her what had happened.
La Touch — who met his wife in a Bangkok bar 10 years ago and married her on his fourth visit to the country two years later — told the court he snapped after she threatened to leave him and go back to Bangkok.
The 30-year-old claimed he was the victim of domestic abuse from his wife, who once hit him over the head with a pool cue and threatened to kill him and "cut him up and eat him".
When police came to arrest La Touche he told them: "We argued and she said she was going to make my life hell, she's put me through it before, I couldn't let that happen again."
La Touche, who admitted manslaughter, was jailed for life yesterday after a jury found him guilty of murder.

Now not to, undermine the tragedy of this extreme case of nerdrage, but that's exactley what I'm going to do, re-reading this bit:

I think these two would have made an awesome sitcom. -
Heinrich Von Bastard
Posted 19 Jan 2011
Thought I might start a thread here incase some of you overlook post sigs.
I've been working on a comic called 'The Adventures of Heinrich Von Bastard' a series of tales about a man sized, demonic spawn, alien cross bred, skull from hell, supervillan drawn in MSPain with a mouse. (It came about as a manifestation of interpretations of a very random avatar on Somethingawful.com that was the Babelfish eyes in the headless horseman's skull)
WEBSITE
COMIC = latest comic in current story
ARCHIVE = list of stories and episodes
Pretty straight forward stuff...
BIRTH OF A BASTARD is the origins story
Captain 'Half-Face' Jack McBastard the Giant Pirate is the current story and an expansion (proquel is you will) of BIRTH OF A BASTARD's Episode 69
END OF THE WORLD is the first story but chronologically the last, so far, about the end of the world.
X-Bastards is another early one, a parody of X-Men
...the other stuff is relativley random scraps for/from Something Awful.
