You make it sound like the people actually had the initiative on that matter, like "Yo, Mr. Hitler-san, why don't we get rid of dem jews?" "Oh, you think?" "Yah." "Well, oki~doki then.", while it was actually the other way round.

Also, that one-party proposition pretty much didn't really matter at that time, since we only learned the real importance of that after it happened.

We learned the importance of one-party governments hundreds of years ago... Ask Machiavelli, Rosseau, Voltaire, Locke...

The reason he got away with it was because the Allied powers bankrupted Germany with war debt after WW1, and the government they put in power was essentially useless. Bureaucracy > action, so people got pissed.

But let's get away from Goodwin, shall we?
