Will the PT be regarded on the same level as the OT? Well will they?

I just don't see it. I think the OT will always be regarded as the "better half" of the trilogies, and the PT will be regarded less so. I don't deny that there will still be people who love them, but classics... no, Star Wars' day is done----Just like Star Trek's. We must move onto better things now...

Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.
"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Many people seem to think so. Maybe our arguments and criticisms will be set aside eventually and these two trilogies will someday be known as one big saga. What do you all think? Will it? Won't it? Why or why not? Discuss.
What do you mean as One big saga?
There are a lot of people who already consider the PT+OT a big 6 part saga.
There are a lot of people who even prefer the PT to the OT.
However of what I understood of your post is that if the PT will ever be considered classics as the originals are. My answer is No, never, in 10/20 years only movies that offered more that pretty effects can stand the test of time.
Example:
King Kong (2005) really makes Jurassic Park look like a visit to the Zoo. However in 20 years Jurassic Park will probably still be highly praised and King Kong not that much, probably there will be another remake with even better SFX.
I don't know the definition of a classic movie, maybe one that changed and impressed a generation. I don't see the PT doing that to anyone, even for the ones who like it. The OT certainly did that to the kids of the 70's/80's

Well, I don't mean now. I mean, as time goes on, there will eventually be better movies, movies and trilogies we can sink our teeth into and go onto forums and discuss indefinitely. It's going to be hard, but it will eventually happen.
I will always carry my love for the original trilogies, and nothing will change that, especially not the PT. Already, the prequels grow dim in memory as I don't watch them, but I continue to watch the OT on occassion.
I just look to the future now and the hopes that there will be bigger and better things (or as good).... Hope. A New Hope.... sorry, couldn't resist.

Classic movie = Cool Hand Luke
(I keep throwing that name out there in a vain attempt that someone else has seen the movie, but I've gotten no responses yet. How about you, LA? If you haven't then I doubt that anyone on this forum has.

Yeah, I've seen Cool Hand Luke. I still get sick to my stomach thinking back on the egg eating scene. The line "What we have here is a failure to communicate" really only works when Paul Newman says it.
