So I've most of what I've heard has been positive but kinda mixed. It's a historical film starring DDL and thats a great combination, but I've also heard that the ending doesnt live up to the film and seems to be somewhat of a non sequiter. Thoughts?

Movie sucks. No story and its ridiculously boring. Boring is acceptable if the movie ends up paying off at the end or is deep, but this movie is neither. DDL is ridiculous in it tho which almost makes it worth watching but overall the movie was a huge let down.

I haven't seen the movie...and I actually hadn't really heard about it before since I don't watch normal TV and rarely go to the movie theater (and also don't really go for those sorts of films or stories anyway), but I had to look into it because of one line being repeated online that really caught my attention.
"I...drink...your...MILKSHAKE! *SLUUUUURP* I DRINK IT UP!"
Yes, hearing that line out of context? You kind of have to go look up everything about the movie just to find out what the fuck the guy is talking about. Because otherwise, it's just another quote or meme that claws its way inside your BRAIN and won't let go. Although, even in context, and watching that clip on YouTube...I still laugh.

I just rented this movie and I have to say it was worth my money to hear Daniel Day Louis say that. It was NOT, however, worth two hours out of my life. I liked the period epic of a wealthy oil magnate losing his mind better the first time I saw it, when it was called The Aviator.
