Spiderman's eyes/mouth being exposed, while done all the time, is necessary. Spiderman's mask covers his face completely. For a film, you have to have the eyes or mouth exposed at some point of the battle, to get the audience to connect to him better. The only options are to rip the mask or to take the mask off (even if it strectches credibility as to why Peter would take the mask off); there's no way around it. -

The CGI in Attack of the Clones wasn't just overloaded. The entire film is really just one giant cartoon with live-action actors in it. There's no reason to animate a waterfall, or a diner, for God's sake. Instead of looking like a Star Wars film, it looked more like:
I can see why Lucas might be interested in CGI as a possible means of special effects technology, and he could make other films that play around and experiment with it, but why with Star Wars? -

Saying "it's a kid's film" is not an excuse for a lack of quality in the prequels, and it ignores that any decent children's story has relatable characters, substance, an engaging story, and sometimes hold appeal to adults.
I think that ANH could be considered a glorified and extremely well-done children's story. The storyline can be easily understood and it has a lot of fairy-tale-style archetypes and themes. The fact that there are some acts of violence doesn't necessarily preclude it being a children's story (His Dark Materials and Harry Pottter have some very violent details). The Empire Strikes Back is a bit more of an adult drama, but it can certainly be understood and enjoyed by children (action scenes, Yoda). -

Padme's dialogue when she found out Anakin turned to the dark side was atrocious, with lame comments like "I don't know you anymnore" and "You're breaking my heart". God, no wonder Anakin choked her. -

Great reasons. My favorite would have to be your comments on Obi Wan cracking that extremely predictable "Another happy landing joke" after they just demolished a control tower and killed all those people. Reminded me of that Simpsons episode where Homer and Bart are watching When Buildings Collapse and cheering.
