We need a new web browser that’s obscure enough to not be virused.
That is one badass baby.

I love being the annoying Use Firefox Guy. Victims of my "its so much better than IE" campaign are:
- my entire family.
- my best mate, as a solution to a problem with his computer.
- a friend from uni, who just wanted a new antivirus (Avast all teh way)
- my girlfriend
- seriously, this blue vans still there
- someone else
Its hell of fun.

Chances are that if that money had gone into your pocket you wouldn't even notice. Unless you had a completely empty pocket. Then you'd notice the huge difference in now being able to put a down payment on a cup of coffee.

Check out: www.Ubuntu.com! (Pronounced oo-BOON-tu . . . it's an african word for "humanity to others")
Ubuntu is much simpler, than, say, Mac OS or Windows, comes with all the apps you'll ever need, and best of all, runs on linux!
BUT! Linux is completely in the background, meaning people like you, who know shitall about programming in C++, never have to deal with the hard stuff, and can enjoy all the benefits of linux.
Like a free OS, upgraded, for free, every 6 months. No CD keys, no registration problems, ad you can give your friends the installation CD, afterwards.
Like never having to defragment.
Like being able to get help from tech peeps who WANT to help you.
(If you have trouble with that, i recommend going to a ubuntu/linux forum/irc/chatty place and saying, "(insert linux OS name) sucks because it can't (Insert nature of problem) like (other OS, like windows . . . this part doesn't have to be true)"
You'll have (slightly angry) people rushing to fix your problem, I guarantee.
*rambles on for another hour*

ADOM is listed under their "THESE GAMES WILL WORK! SERIOUSLY TRY THEM!" page as a "promising roguelike game".
I do feel I can heartily recommend it for people who view their computer as a utility and not as an entertainment system, though.

2. Buy a game and then scour the internet for a compatibility tool to play it, or just pop it in to my DVD drive and play it? Hmmm...
That's not directed specifically at you. I'm not a Microsoft fanboy, but really, Linux. XP is just as stable as you and while you may be slightly more secure against hacking/viruses/trojans/etc., it's only because the hackers don't give a crap about your OS.
Hope I didn't make any Linux users cry.

So I pretended to be a linux guy.
2.To defend Ubuntu . . . you CAN double-boot, y'know.
Run everything that works on Ubuntu, since it's faster, more secure, etc., and whatever doesn't work immediatly, install on the windows partition. ('s what i do.)
Furthermore, with that 100% functionality remark?
You think windows has 100% functionality? Except in a few certain fields, (ie: mainstream games), windows has less functionality than your typical linux build. Just a factoid.
Have the last word if you want, I'm not going to post anything more defending linux.

Again, I'm not saying that Windows is perfect for every user but XP is pretty durn good, and anybody who says that you have to get Linux if you want a stable OS needs to go brush their teeth because I smell a whole lot of bullshit.
Vista sucks balls. Why would you come out with a brand new version of Windows when you finally got a stable version?
Like I said, you don't need to defend Linux because I'm not attacking it.

In theory: To better support new technologies, enhance usability and to keep up with the market's growing competition.
In practice: Good question.

Whoop-a-dee-doo.
In return you get decreased system stability, poor peripheral support, brand new untested drivers and an overwhelming feeling of emptiness in the pit of your soul.

In practise: to get more ca$h from idiots who know only as much about computers as microsoft wants them to (I need an OS, dur! Winodws is the only OS, durr!). (The same goes for apple . . . and probably for any non-free linux build).
I like the way I hi-jacked this thread. From big gay adverts to big gay discussion over OSes.
