The Next Mario Game An Open Letter to Nintendo

I've been playing games featuring your loveable plumber since I got Donkey Kong for the Intellivision in 1982. I love the little guy, everyone does. However, there are a few things I would like to see in the next Mario game.
Mario RPG was an interesting experiment in bringing RPG elements into the Mario franchise. It was fun but what you did next changed my life and the world as I know it. Mario 64 was one of the best examples of taking a classic platformer and turning it into something entirely different, new and unique while maintaining the same feeling and gameplay as the original. Mario Sunshine, while a very good game, failed to be too much of an innovation over its predecessor.
So I get to thinking. What is missing? Two things:
Luigi
Why he been cast aside like so much spoiled ham? Donkey Kong gave us Mario; Mario Bros. gave us Mario and Luigi; Super Mario Bros. 2 gave us Mario, Luigi, Toad and the Princess, all with their own unique powers. Then we were forced to go back to the Mario and Luigi team in Super Mario Bros. 3 which was fine because it was a fantastic game. Then eventually Luigi was phased out until we were left with Just Mario. I would like the option to see the white and green overall plumber suit working alongside Mario's blue and red outfit once again!
Two Players!
How hard would it be to create another two player Mario Game? Having the option to have a second player would make this game much more enjoyable for two people to play. Let's see less adventure elements and more platformer elements. The adventure thing is great, but it's been done twice already. Let's get back to basics and have a great Mario game in the style of Super Mario Bros. 3 that is two players, has character choices like Super Mario Bros. 2 and adventure elements reminiscent of Mario 64.
C'mon, Nintendo, you have a backlog of great ideas to build on. You've given us plenty of innovative games in this series already. Give us another truly original game. After all we're paying you $50 for a disc the size of a silver dollar. Make it worth our while!

Mario was the lamest character in Super Mario Bros. 2. Everyone else had a special ability and he was "best all around".

I usually used Princess, because she can jump the farthest.

Mario was just boring and average. Not very useful.
Toad was strong. Useful on some levels.
Luigi jumped really high. Kinda useful except...
THE PRINCESS COULD LEVITATE!

I might wear dresses more often if they enabled me to float.

It was the first one where you get to ride Yoshi around and eat eggs and such. It was pretty cool.
Yes. I played ALL of the Megaman. Others weren't able to play it because I played it too much.
That makes two of us.

Super Mario World was released with the SNES in 1991. The story: Bowser and his seven children have captured the Princess and enslaved the peaceful kingdom of Dinosaur Land, trapping Yoshi’s relatives in eggs.
The seven worlds: Yoshi’s Island, Donut Plains, Vanilla Dome, Twin Bridges, Forest of Illusion, Chocolate Island, Valley of Bowser. The Star World linked all of these worlds together, and the Special World could be reached by a secret exit in one of the levels of Star World.
(The Mario design staff had wanted Mario to ride a dinosaur after the release of Super Mario Bros. in 1985, but it was not possible until the SNES came out.)
I’ve played all of the NES Megaman titles.

After MegaMan 2 I started drawing up my own mega man villians. Like SpikeMan LionMan and whatnot. That game gave me a creativity spout for about 2 months or so. I would draw up the characters hoping that one day nintendo would adopt my ideas and use them on the next installment of the game. My best one was ChemicalMan, he fired chemical waste out of his hand which was shaped like a hose.
Those games were so damn fun. Also I remember there was a certain order you went about in choosing which bosses you fought. I remember in MM2 you would first kill the BuzzMan ( was that his name?) Then go use the special power you get from him and go fight LeafMan. ( the dude that looked like a tree stump)
