I think you'll find it's closer to 1,250€...
And with that amount of cash, I'd simply buy a slamming PC.

Then I'd only buy 204 subway tickets.
Anyway, I'd have enough for 3 years or so...

I'm surprised someone had that gall to take that user name. Good luck!

You... take the subway often? I guess it saves you £1000 in the end, so it makes sense
Anyways, if I had £1000 at today's conversation rate I'd have $1,954.148 US... (So, one place where the dropped dollar is nice.) Enough to finally get a 360 and Rock Band, throw some at a charity, get Neil Sai Painter, throw some in savings and grab a nice vegan meal at Horizons with the left overs. Yay.

Twice every day I've to go to university, so that's 10 times per week.
Anyway, I guess it would be more expensive taking the car...
Mmh... I think this leads me to a certainly curious point... have you realised that you can't get many things with only 1,250€? A car? nope, a house? neither. Althought you can get a new TV, a new computer/console or other technologic gadgets...
Back in time 1,250€ worth more than now and life was cheaper back then. But new technologies were more expensive. Now it seems it's the other way round...
Hell, It's hard to make such posts understandable to the other people when your mother language isn't english...

Yes, this is the post where I bitch about my minuscule food budget and can't even get a job because most of my student loan is a grant, not a loan, and I actually get more money by NOT working, which pisses me off.

You do better than some people who's native language *is* English. *claps for you*
I see where your coming from, but I think that is more of a "as time goes on this is cheaper to make" thing. Then again, some technologies go up... I miss when arcade games cost one quarter to play instead of 3-4. Oh, and medical technologies if we need to talk about something important.
That sounds like a crappy situation. Don't work, don't get money. Work, get less money, or at least not enough to make up for the fact you are working. At least you got that health care thing...? Need some cookies?
