Point #1: I sent Yahtzee my first ever e-mail to him, asking him what he though of people saying, "Yahtzee believes this," and "Yahtzee does this because," and "Yahtzee..."

There are quit a few examples in this thread, but there are hundreds on this forum and on the escapists. A good example is up above: "One of these groups is a gigantic and colossal embarrassment to Yahtzee."

I definitely do it too, or have done it at the very least. I think it's very interesting, and very fan boyish, to try and guess Yahtzee's feelings on any subject matter.

Point #2: Yahtzee's tongue was so far in his cheek that stupid people failed to see that entirely, when he made the "racist" remarks. Obviously, the fact that there are white people, like myself, who can't afford to drop $1200 USD on A Wii-PS3-Xbox 360 combo platter should show his remark for its lack of sincerity.

No one is up in arms when Yahtzee animates characters shooting children, in army of two, but heaven fucking forbid a white person to make a sarcastic joke on race.

What really gets me is the joke isn't on black people themselves. It's on the general statistical disparity between white salaries and minority ones, and that in itself is neutral. Theoretically it could also be a joke on the racists hiring practices. Interpreting it as a racist remark lambasting minorities is only one possible interpretation.

Maybe so, but I have never heard any hint whatsoever that he makes that distinction. Whenever he talks about the Fans, he talks about "the fans" not "that one group of stupid fans." Granted, splitting the camps into "Those who should die" and "those who are alright" would break his flow a bit.

It's extraordinarily difficult to look past one loud, annoying morass of sycophancy to see a smaller, quieter group who don't like to draw attention to themselves.

Agreed.

I guess shooting kids doesn't bring up uncomfortable feelings of sometimes repressed "white guilt". Plus this isn't the first he's used the concept of white VS "others" as a sarcastic joke.

Edit for mis-wording

So, if you take a Race and Ethnicity class, one of the things you will learn is this: the white slave owners of the 18th and 19th centuries didn't even consider many CAUCASIANS white. Unless you were a protestant anglo male, you were shit in early America.

I happen to be of Eastern European descent, a mix of Hungarian and Polish, and in 1864 I was just as inferior as any black man, and I certainly didn't have enough money to own any slaves... never mind the fact that my family didn't have it's first immigrant to the country until after 1910, half a century after slavery was abolished.

I do not have one tiny bit of white guilt. Expecting ME to feel guilty for what an entirely different caucasian ethnicity did MORE THAN 100 YEARS ago should be just as racist, if not more, than me saying black people earn less money on average than white people.

Edited to further elucidate my point.

Oh, and a further edit:

NO ONE in the black community seems to begrudge their own African brothers for initially enslaving them in the first place, either. All the anger is focused on the plantation owners. Guess who developed the system that European slave traders took advantage of to get cheap labor? The Africans! They were taking slaves a hundred years before the first white man ever traded a few muskets for one.

But Africa is rarely seen as a place of slavery, or the initial starting point of all the trouble.

My comments on racism:

Anybody who says Yahtzee is a racist for making one silly comment with tongue planted firmly in cheek needs to go watch some Carlos Mencia (with tongue nowhere near cheek) for a while.

And lower minority salaries is just a symptom of a bigger problem, anyway. We had "affirmative action" for a while, but all that does is try to eliminate racial prejudice by implementing a racial stereotype into employment (i.e. these black people will never get a job unless we white people are forced by law to give them one).

Unfortunately, racism will never go away. There's too many closed-minded people who continue to spread their genetic material. What we don't have to do, however, is make everybody afraid to make silly observations by screaming "RACIST!" at the top of our lungs anytime our PC-meter twitches the slightest bit. Besides, some of those silly observations are correct, and kind of funny. For instance, have you ever seen white people dance? Hilarious! And I'm white!

My comments on Yahtzee fans:

Believe it or not, the forums here have gotten a lot better. We don't have that insane guy who posted 500 times a day anymore (although Yahtzee's edit-fest response is required reading, as far as I'm concerned). There is an occasional INTERNET ARGUMENT, but okay, this is the internet.

Yahtzee doesn't seem to be around much anymore, but that's okay too. If he was it would encourage more idiots to try and grab his attention (have you ever tried reading the comments in ZP?). I'm fine with this forum being a little under the radar.

Heh, I kind of assumed Yahtzee only posted here for, like, the game testing threads and help threads and what not.

Someone's got to say it:

"I'm definately not buying that strange reviewing game then".

Oh, and what's the bet people start sending Yahtzee angry letters in the hope he'll talk about them and they get some sort of fame?

Screw you. That'd be the best game ever. tongue.gif

Edit: Game Over, that is the best picture ever and I will be having wet dreams tonight because of it. I hope you're happy.

You could tell they were idiots when they started talking about "having taste in video games". That is, if the various other painfully stupid things they said prior to that wasn't enough.
Do you understand Eli, that's more to the point, do you understand? I drink your water. I drink it up every day. I drink the blood of lamb from Bandy's tract.

The classic "internet style" inspiration.

Who?
Also, there's nothing wrong with a civilised internet argument.
I'm mostly worried about people who are very open about their lives. Lot's of scary people on the internet, and I'm not only talking about stalkers.

DeviantArt is full of these people. One guy that really scares me is Dave Cheung. You know, the guy who does the horrible webcomic 'Chegworth Academy' and does Guru Hentai.

More horrifying that being stalked by an Asperger patient.

I might as well include some "MILKSHAKES" in my future pics. They're delicious.

Unrelated, but a person named Plainview began posting, and then Game mentioned milkshakes, so I think we all know that the following two links are inevitable, and we should all just get it out of the way as soon as possible:

There will be blood.

There will be pokemon.

I drink your milkshake!

There will be Picard
There will be Connery
