"Whatever crappy pop group it was" covering "Under The Bridge"
Joss "Hit Me" Stone covering "Fell In Love With A Girl", thus leading to the Wite Stripes losing the decent version, and playing the lamer, slower version.
Some blone muppet called Lucie Silvas daring to cover "Nothing Else Matters"
Do help me elaborate, please. I know there's no shortage.

-Marilyn Manson - "Personal Jesus" (orig: Depeche Mode) and "Tainted Love" (orig: Soft Cell)
-Orgy - "Blue Monday" (orig: New Order)
And why not switch it up a bit and do crappy punk covers of good pop songs?
-Kelly Osbourne - "Papa Don't Preach" (orig: Madonna)
-Sid Vicious - "My Way" (orig: Frank Sinatra)

See what happens when you install mental safeguards against utter filth? You forget the importent ones.
To be fair, to call that song "punk" is on the same level as calling her "punk", or even "a musician".

Busted did a decent Punk cover of Brown Eyed Girl. I've never heard anything else by the band, ever, or even heard of them, except for that song.
Perfect Circle's Imagine isn't bad. It's interesting how they changed the chords around in the chorus. Did I ever get that to send you you, AN?

Take that back.. it wasn't good.. was long drawn out and depressing..
Also Korn's cover of Another Brick in the Wall has no real feeling to it.
I dont like all these covers coming out.. write origianl music damn it!
(Sorry.. bit of a sore point with me)

I had Dale send it to me last night. I think it's very well done.

Granted I'm sure a great cover could be done... just those don't live up to my expectations.
(Yeah.. i'm a music snob.. I admit it! hehe)

Srmoore, well, the original isn't much better in the depressing category. It's an outcry for peace and unity that can never be achieved unless humanity suddenly transforms into the ideal species people believe we are supposed to be.
Chyld: Like I said, I've never heard anything else about or by Busted, ever. But I like Van Morison, and I like punk style music. My biggest problem with the song is based on personal preference, since I prefer green or blue eyes to brown.

Dismemberment Plan "Close to Me" (originally by The Cure. DP puts a trip-hoppy spin on it)
Blake Babies "Temptation Eyes" (Grass Roots)
Teenage Fanclub "Like a Virgin" (Madonna)
Sonic Youth "Superstar" (The Carpenters)
Jesus and Mary Chain have done several I like: "Vegetable Man" (Syd Barrett), "Surfin' USA" (Beach Boys), and "Who Do You Love?" (Bo Diddley)
