Jane: Try using the folks I use, Blogger. Admittedly, you need to know a wee bit of HTML so that its not all just plain text, and to make the layout not suck, but its all good otherwise.

I don't think I know what HTML is...I took a couple of computer courses my junior year where we worked on web pages (what was the program called? I think it was "FrontPage" or something.) but I'm not sure if they ever mentioned anything about HTML.
I don't even know how to upload pictures properly. You see this avatar? That was an incredible stroke of luck!

I'm sure there are plenty around here who would be willing to help you out with HTML, Jane.

Its not too hard to do simple HTML formatting, just take the formatting buttons from this 'ere board, and replace the [] bits with <> bits.
EG: Shiny italics = [ I ][ /I ] = < I >< /I > (obviously sans spaces)
Same principle for bold and underline.
Doing pictures and hypertext links (who actually calls them that these days anyway?) is different, and I can't be arsed to explain how now. Come back later when you have webspace...

However, you need to learn the variables...height, width, border, bordercolor, style etc...its all really simple, because most of it applies to everything. Its just learning a set of values.

Er, of course, I don't know, Chyld told me to say that!

I get on fine without variables. Mainly because I haven't the slighest what they are...
