Crimes Against Humanity

No, not the current Star Wars Trilogy. I read yesterday that Saddam Hussein may soon be facing a Crimes against Humanity Trial. This got me to thinking, if Vader had lived at the end of ROTJ and in a galaxy far, far away they had something like this trial, who would be prosecuted Anakin or Vader?

If Alderaan had oil in it, *both* would be trialed and convicted in an american court of law! Yeeee-Haaah!
While Michael Jackson watched it on tv, snuggling up to some younglings!

Psssttt.... they're the same person...
Oh no, by jimminy!!! According to folk lore and the official star wars website, when Anakin decided to turn to the dark side, he threw off his humanity and became Vader. That's why, in ROTJ, by saving Luke, he got to share Jedi heaven because he died in the light, he was a Jedi again, and Anakin. So he is

My computer is obviously of the dark side. To continue my post , he is not the same person, and if you don't get this by now then Lucas is a REALLY bad story teller. And no I am not making this up, go check the website, Anakin suffers from split personality.

Vader would be tried, with Anakin named as an accomplice. And we'd all be subjected to humiliating photos of Vader in his underwear.
And the all-time favorite line up of suspects, comprised of:
- Vader (he dresses in black, ...)
- Chewbacca (there's something hairy about him)
- Some random cgi alien (just as a filler, as in the movies)
- Wrinkly Palpatine (dirty old man)
- George Lucas (no comments)
... in which some random youngling points at Vader and says: Him, the whiny bitch with the black suit on!

He should have been prosecuted and executed for what he did. Spending an entire lifetime of mass murder and tyranny is not somethng that can easily be forgiven. It would not have mattered at all if he was just 'redeemed' at the end of ROTJ.
He could have plead temporary insanity. Would've worked for me.

Yeah. 25 years worth of temporary insanity. That wouldn't go over too well at the Republic HQ.
Ok. Then he would plea Permanent Insanity. He could them about the "Lava" and "Where did my limbs go?" thing.

In the George Lucas universe all of his crimes would be forgotten and Vader/Anakin would again be a hero with none of his past evils ever brought up.
If anybody were to do it Vader would certainly stand trial for his actions, and neither Luke nor Leia could do anything about it

It's simple. He is the greatest killer the galaxy has ever known. Despite him being strong enough to defeat just about anyone that comes after him, the people wouldn't rest until he's dead. Do you think that people would just say "Aww, sure! Hitler was insane! It all makes sense now, he can go!"? Erm.... no.

Maybe he could pull an OJ Simpson or a Michael Jackson. Heh.
(and of course I was kidding about the insanity thing)
