QUOTE (llamaman @ Jul 26 2005, 08:07 AM)
During the opening cutscene, halfway through it, the colors inverted on me.  they went back to normal when it was finished, and it happened agian during one of the tutorial cutscenes.  I have no idea if it was something on my end that caused it, or a flaw in the coding, or something weird with AGS.

Also, I do like the nod to Star Trek with the redshirts, but in an effort to save credits, can't we beam the little guys back before they reach an ignominious end?  I accidentally sent one to the bar, and had to kill him off before I could do anything useful. That's just not economical.  I expect a little more value for my 20 credit investment in human life.

Point 1 - Yes, I think that's an issue with AGS.

Point 2 - No, because that's kind of the point, and the joke, and part of the challenge. Redshirts can't complete their mission until they get messily killed. It's intended as a dual parody of Star Trek and Sierra Sudden Death Syndrome.
As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I realised that it could do with a lick of paint.

Just got done playtesting the game for the first time. The only buggy part that I noticed was when you are in the Museum Maze with Eric (the little fuzzy thing) he tends to sink into the floor, nothing that a quick hop won't fix, but hey.

Also, when you're doing the fishing mini-game. I usually get through the dialog boxes using the space button, But when I do that in the fishing game it automaticly throws a harpoon without letting me start. It would be a nice quick fix if you could disable the harpoon untill the dialog box is gone. (god that was a confusing way to put a problem)

I quite enjoyed it, and I'm damned impressed how you kept the file size so low for such a massive game.

I noticed that. Fairly minor.

Just got the jetpack and working out how to get that time drive out. GREAT game - probably my favourite of Yahtzee's so far.

Excellent game so far. Kudos to you YZ, for ye have done it again. The only bugs I have thus encountered have already been covered.

I do have an idea for Trading though. From what I gather, the prices remain the same throughout the game, and once you hit upon the perfect trade route then it's just a case of doing it over again.

What might be good is either at certain pre-scipted points in the story, or just randomly every now and then, a news event happens (possibly shown in the bullitin) that changes the prices of a comodity someway. For example:

'A recent boom in the geek population has raised the cost of Pornography on Integen 4.'

or, the other way,

'The latest 'Starve Yourself Sexy' fad has lowered the cost of chocolate on Begurath 3.'

This means that trade routes would change, and the player can test to see if this is more profitable or has to change their route because suddenly it doesn't cut the mustard anymore.

Merely a thought. And I do love the backstory between RB III and YTOTW. I've always wanted that to be filled in. Me = Happy DC.

By the way. I only did 91% of the game. Enraged at this, I read through the walkthrough and it seems to have done everything I did.....

What did I miss? ohmy.gif I did all the subquests etc

How about making the hard mode of that game on Bloody Towel abit easier, my highest score on hard is 390, is 500 really possible? And, yes I know its called hard for a reason.

Erk, sorry about the double post but I just found a way to complete that game with a perfect score and no work whatsoever. If you slow down your processor speed to a fraction of what it normally is for the duration of the puzzle on hard mode, you get more time to do the puzzle than you do on easy mode. My theory behind why it happens is because either yahtzee's code or the AGS engine does timings by the time it takes your processor to process a certain amount processing, ie the looping method. Meaning that slower processors get a reaction advantage. But anyway, I'm just being a smartarse cos thats one of useless bits of information I know. Depends on if its a problem with the code or the engine, if its the code, its down to Yahtzee as to if he gives a damn if people cheat.

I managed to do it third time round smile.gif
But I'm on an AMd 750.... If it IS processor-cycle based and not time based, people on 2000000ghz machines are in trouble!

If your processor is fast then you just need to slow it down and it makes the timer and the images move alot slower. Although, I did manage to get a perfect score. I'm using my nan's 1.8 and I slowed it down to the speed of a 0.36 GHz. Yeah that is very slow.

Little bug: All I can tell Bromide is to engage the cloak, but when done for the second time it's switched off again.

By the way, I played the game on a 2 ghz pc and had no problems with the arcade game on Bloody Towel. You're just too slow, man! Actually I think it helps to just skip the difficult parts in order to avoid minus points.

This is Yahtzee saying this but I can't be arsed logging out of Rhubarb's account.

Uploaded v1.1.2 which should hopefully be the last one we need, so I can start announcing it everywhere. In this week's episode:

- Bromide cloaking dialogue fixed
- Added cloak indicator
- Fixed broken glass object in kitchen

Once again, old save games won't work in the new version. As for the Boogie Boogie Uprising game, it's not my fault if you're crap.

This may sound like a very stupid bug to mention, but what can I say... in the vents... if you jump carefully enough its possible to land so that you can't move left or right in certain spots. If you want to know where I'll take screenshots and post, otherwise there's no point since you can just jump out for some reason.

Hurray, more nit-pickery. If you ever click on the center of a wormhole, you get the standard "You're not sure what you're supposed to do" message. So yeah, if you ever feel the need to patch it again, there's something.

A few more things I noticed during the course of gameplay:

When you get the cloak, eric doesn't mention having it once you buy it, same thing for the singularity generator, but, there's an option for that right away once you get it. Maybe have him say we have a cloak/broken cloaking device, until you wake up the captain. Also, the Shield Generator.

In Regards to the captain, her wakeup quest is kind of buggy, if you go to planet 3 and click on her before you've been to planet 1+2, nothing at all happens, not even "...", and if you go to planet 2 first, I've gotten on on save for it to activate her memory, and one not.

Would it be possible to remove the mouse pointer during the fishing game? It gets in the way of the fish.

Also, when you complete missions, or at least the rod mission, It's still on the bulletin board. Maybe take it down if it's finished?

The Shield Generator seems a bit cheap in battle, since you can just sit with it and not attack and get your shield back up to full without any danger, making every battle kind of pointless after you get it, since as long as you can survive one hit, and you have a little patience you can't lose. Maybe make it restore a certain amount each round, and not at all during the selection menu.

Also, in the river puzzle, there's an outlet that looks like ' ' in the upper middle right, where all the other outlets look like ) .

Other than those minor thngs, the game was great and interesting, and a great bridge between the series.
