Jon Stewart... Again Monday, September 18, 2006

It was a beautiful morning as I walked up Sixth Avenue when I saw a man my height approaching. I thought that he was dressed much the way Jon Stewart may dress and as he approached, I found there was a good reason for that. It was Jon Stewart. (I bet you saw that one coming and you still couldn't get out of the way). I saw him a couple of years ago at the America The Book booksigning at the Time Warner Center Borders location.
He was carrying what I would consider to be an unnecessary amount of coffee. Perhaps it's expanded in my mind but I think he was carrying a four coffee caddy and two coffees in another hand. As he passed I gave him a quick glance and he hesitantly made eye contact. Undoubtedly he was thinking, "Oh Christ, don't let this guy talk to me for any reason. I just want to get this coffee home to my wife and have a relaxing Sunday morning."
I'm not exactly Mr. Approach-a-Celebrity so even though I'm a huge fan of Mr. Stewart, I respected those wishes. More importantly, I respected the desire of someone to get to their coffee while it's still hot.

Later, an acquantance of mine saw Nick Anderson in the airport and he tore him up on how bad is basketball skills are. This was pointless really. But I did hear that Nick did tell on this kid to his mom about his insults. He's friggin' grown! Why is he crying to his mom, now?!

In my experience, if they're rappers or singers of any kind, at their shows they're your best friend. But on their down time, they can get real snippy. So i usaually look from afar. But hey if the celeb is worth it to you... i say let yourself be heard.

Imagine if you were in his position, and somebody told you that? Just how are you supposed to react?

Undoubtedly he'd scribble the URL on a napkin then run home and register on the forums.
