Maybe it would have aged better if they'd included a stormtrooper gunbarrel sequence?

The Chewbacca tarzan yell is ridiculous.
Maybe Lucas included it to remind the audience they are watching a movie and they shouldn't suspend their disbelief.
(Muffled Sniffling and sobbing)
Lucas Daughter 1: What's that sound?
Lucas Daughter 2: Daddy is looking at ChefElf again.
But LOTR Two Towers was worse when Legolas went surfing/rollerboarding down the steps of Helm Deep. I wish this unfolded:
Howard Shore: I'll score that bit with a Beach Boys Parody.
Peter Jackson: Oh don't do that. People will think we're lame.
Howard Shore: Like Chewbaca's Tarzan yell?
Peter Jackson: I see your point. It's gone.

Yeesh. Sounds almost as bad as that bit when he slides off the Oliphant in RotK.

Really? Unless it's part of a running gag or somesuch one of the biggest things on the To Do list of storytelling is to get people to suspend their disbelief. Why on Earth would you try to remind people that what they're doing/watching/reading/whatever isn't real? The reason it would've been done was like what pretty much what others already said; It's a reference to Tarzan. Makes people go "ooh, look what they did there, how amusing/clever".
Yes this is over three years ago, and I'm sure this guy isn't around to defend himself, but I'm bored right now.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.
