In other news, Dick Cheney has become head of Sprint, saying "this company of f*ckers is a crowd I can really relate to." laugh.gif

Hah more on this...
http://tech.msn.com/...?...4&GT1=10240

And Bond, when i said that their cell service isn't what keeps them afloat, is that Sprint is a large tech firm, they have their hands in a lot of stuff. In fact this new article points out how much money they lost on cell services over a year after snagging Nextel.

I just found this site and this is the first I've heard of the Sprint customer firings. I'm not a Sprint user, but a few weeks ago, my yard man asked me to pay his phone bill because he was past due and about to be cut off. It took me two full days just to give Sprint my money! The website was down. I called the customer service number, entered his phone number, pressed 2 for Billing. It rang about 10 times and then I got a recording saying, "We cannot take your call at this time." Line goes dead!

Now I was not calling to complain. I was trying to pay a bill. This happened repeatedly. I finally called a sales number, landing at a call center in the Philippines. The guy listened to me as I got increasingly indignant. He said he would transfer me to customer service.

Yep, I got the same line where I was hung up on. And they did it again.

And the thing that really irritated me is that they had sold this man, who does not make a lot of money, a $500 phone that has features he has no earthly idea how to use, and if he does use them they will cost a fortune, (like it gets television) plus they signed him up for 1000 minutes a month, when he uses about 400. I looked on their website and the only phone that had a list price of $499 was being offered for $9.95 with a contract, rebates, web purchase, etc. And he's paying interest on the damned phone.

When I finally got someone on the phone to take my payment, I told her that my contract with Verizon was coming up and they had really insured that I was not going to switch to Sprint. What a horrible, horrible company. And I wonder if all my calls counted against him as a pesky customer.

How can you get TV on your phone? I mean, I thought you couldn't get the regular channels on cell phones. unsure.gif

It's just streaming video. Most likely not to have local channels available. Would depend on the service, which I don't usually look into. I like my phone being able to do 2 things, make calls and play annoying music during lunch meetings.

To me the display of a phone might be too small and I refuse to watch horribly compressed streaming videos with blocks and colour fading for entertainment.

My television days maybe over soon.

Outline:

The more quantity of channels they pack in the less quality I am noticing over the years.
