I enjoyed the flick, but the main villain went from believably motivated to insanely drunk with power in the space of a single scene. Add to which his immediate facility with the equipment belied the hour or so of film time spent showing Stark developing his version and painfully testing it.
I quite enjoyed the film and the above is the only thing that really was to out of place for me also. I'm not as familiar with Iron Man the comic as I am with many of the others but I was suitably entertained by the film and enjoyed RDJ's performance. I would welcome a sequel.
overall I tend to enjoy set-up stories. It's nice to have a grounding and get the full picture of where a character has come from and I thought Iron Man delivered that. And as yet I have not met a single peson who did not cringe and say to themselves "What the hell are you doing testing the flight capabilities in THAT garage?"
