Anyone know of any comedy novels, or writers of said novels? Excluding Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett?

I want to get into writing comedy and whatnot, and I would like some inspiration. Also, I want something to read. There's nothing on TV anymore.

Tom Sharpe. He's quality. Like Mr Adams, only with subject matter a bit closer to home.

Eoin Colfers quite good, too.

Some funny writers I liked are Max Barry, Joey Goebel and Chris Buckley.

Thanks, guys! I checked out Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff from my library, so far, it's hilarious.

His third novel Company was published three weeks ago or so. I hear both Syrup (Barry wrote the screenplay himself) and JG will turn into a movie, and the option for Company the movie have been bought as well.

"Hard Core Logo" by Michael Turner is very funny, I think. It's very dark humour, but it's good. It's about an aging Canadian punk band that reuinites for a tour and then goes through all sorts of trouble along the way. If you like the book, see the movie too. smile.gif

Hmmm, resurrection of an old topic, but if you're Irish, the Ross O'Carroll Kelly series of books are fantastic... they're about the upper-class of Dublin people who drink mocha-latté's, have loads of money and generally act like conceited twats. Great stuff!
