Why the hell are there so many British guys in Star Wars. Not that I'm complaining, it just seems odd that there would be so many. SW is an American film, after all. I actually read in some interview where GL said something to the effect of "I'm trying to even out the British and Americans in the movie. I don't want it to come off as GB versus America."
Maybe he did this to appeal to British audiences?

I think the only crew he could really get for Tunisia was a British crew, Cushing and Guinness were there as Cushing and Guiness, not as englishmen, also, though a lot of the Imperial actors were american ("Where are you taking this... thing") there were a lot of mid-atlantic types who really slipped into a British role around Cushing.

In general it does seem that most of the good guys have American accents while most of the bad guys have British (or rather, English) accents. Vader and Obi-Wan are exceptions, though - and if I remember correctly, Mon Mothma had an English accent as well.
I think I read somewhere that a 'British' accent in Star Wars is supposed to show that the person comes from the Core Worlds, but I'm not sure how accurate this is. Can anyone else confirm this?

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

Bingo, the production was done in London. Chewbacca, C3PO, and R2D2 were all played by British actors as well.
