The various Force powers
Posted 24 May 2005
I have been thinking, the Jedi use a variety of force abilities, and the Sith (or whatever you want to call them) use different ones. For instance, Jedis don't use the choke and don't use lightning. Why is this? Is the idea that once you use the choke or the lightning that you will inevitably be consumed by the darkside and become evil?
I think it would be interesting if there was a Jedi who was powerful enough to use these techniques without being overwhelmed and turn 'evil'.
Some might argue that burning people with lightning and choking them to death are not very productive things to do. However, Jedis also cut people to pieces with their light sabres, and remain 'good'. Lightning and choking are just other ways of dealing with evil people right?
What do other people think (apart from that I'm an idiot) -
Revenge of the Sith

Please feel free to slap my face. However, who is getting revenge in this film? Is it Darth Sidious? I didn't notice any revenge in particular. Anakin goes nuts and kills people, but it isn't revenge, he is doing it for another reason. if it is Darth Sidious, what is he getting revenge for, and in what way? -
Jedi Corpses

I have heard this topic brought up a bunch of times, but I didn't see it in the list of reasons to hate star wars, and I did a topic search and didn't find it. I notice that Yoda disappears as does Obi Wan when they die. But some other Jedis do not, as seen in the prequels. Why is the rule not consistent? If it were just Yoda disappearing, it could be said that it was just his species that disappears when it dies, but Obi Wan vanishes as well. I had assumed (when watching the original movies) that it was linked to the Jedi, rather than Yoda and Obi Wan specifically, but when I watched the prequels, it seemed as though it is not applied to all Jedi. Maybe I am missing something fundamental, if so please flame me.
