Evil Dead--The Remake

Does anyone know about the projected remake of Evil Dead? I just found out about it by chance whilst looking up quotes from Army of Darkness. Here's the relevant link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434020/
I don't know whether to be excited or suspicious. Because, really, there's no point in pretending that Evil Dead II wasn't just a remake.

I didn't know IMDB made entries for rumors, but I guess you're right. I was just wondering if anyone had heard more about this from a reliable source.
*shrug*
All I know is I've been hearing about this and Evil Dead IV for a couple of years now, and no straight details have ever emerged on either. Sam Raimi vaguely hinted at the third sequel, but never confirmed anything and didn't seem to have much to say about a possible remake.
This is all I've heard, really. That second bullet on the remake's segment is enough to make me not care about it anymore, to be honest.

It is, the CD is worth every precious penny.

The stage version was the best twenty dollars I have ever spent in my life. The amount of fake blood was completely ridiculous, and the guy who played Ash was awesome - he looked exactly like Bruce Campbell.

Regarding the production of Evil Dead the Remake the Movie, only one person has gotten the call with an offer to remake it, Park Chan Wook, the director of Sympathy for Mister Vengeance, Old Boy, Lady Vengeance, I'm an Android but that's OK and one of the films in Three Extremes. When I heard about it, I absolutely creamed my pants in joy.
Then I heard he told Sam Raimi to go fuck himself. I guess the man likes to do his own stuff (even though Old Boy was an adaptation, a somewhat unfaithful one at that)

Michael Bay? Are you kidding? It should be Sam Raimi, Bill Paxton, Wes Craven, or Rob Zombie. If the Coen Brothers wanted a crack at it, that would be ok too.
But really, they shouldn't do this.
