Monkey vs God

Well I have a knack for craming every bit of trivial information in my brain... but the cost is that important stuff (birthdays, upcoming events, location of my keys, one time my name) gets forgoten.
But this skill is nesicary if you aspire to be both a DM and a seccessful student with minimal work.

Indeed. The only stuff I ever need to study is stuff I don't care about, and it's only because I tend to zone out and not pay full attention the first time. My memory's excellent when it works. It's just making it do its job that's the hard part.

The old evolution versus genesis thing is always a weird one.
Many of the same arguments are used by both sides... for example the eye - the eye is composed of a series of light-sensitive cells, the rods and cones arrayed across the retina, then there is a fluid medium, which has the exact optical properties of air, a hard protein lens that focuses light and sits within the pupil, which is protected by a light-amplifying surround or iris. The eye is encased within a cornea so that nothing nasty gets in there and then a pair of sclerae, or eyelids cover the eye to shield it from harm or excessive light.
Its bloody genius thats what it is.
The bible-bashers say that something that perfect could only have arisen from an intelligent designer, while the evolutionists (me ) say bollocks, how does saying "Let there be man" give him these handy things you can see other things with.
Funny old thing, arguments.

Actually, the biologists point to the fact that, if you look across the whole spectrum of life on this planet, you can clearly trace a little imaginary line of complexity from the relatively simple sensing apparatus of an amoeba to the eyes we have as human beings right now. That is, if pressed, a biologist could tell a very consistent story about how the eyes human beings have could have evolved from, say, an amoeba's sensory aparatus using examples of eyes and proto eyes from other living creatures as a guide. Its actually kind of neat because its like you take up the Creationist's challenge to explain how such a complex thing like an eye might have evolved, and answer it very satisfactorily!

i became a christian when i was ten. so all my life all i knew was evolution. i have always considerd the beginning of genesis as a metaphor. this year we had a sermon series at our church about evolution, wich i knew right away that my preachor was going to say it wasnt true(imagine a sermon where it says evolution is true) im in the middle point right now, yes carbon dating has made a lot of mistakes, and that t-rex they just found is kind of weird. but what about the homonids. we find skeletal remains of them. if God created us as we are why would he create inbetween creatures.

I don't understand why people can't believe in both. Maybe you should believe that god made people then they slowly evolved into something else.
Actually, I do know why people don't believe in both. Cause they take that Genesis stuff literally.

Being at times a bit of a conspiracy theorist, I think that if a part of a text (Such as the Old Testament or the Warren Report) can be proven wrong, then it all falls under suspicion, and as Moses did not lead the stated number of Isrealites out of Egypt at the stated time, then that brings Genesis under question. You see, I know that either
A. He lead a much smaller amount out of Egypt.
or
B. He lead them out when the Egyptians were not relying as heavily on them for slave labor.
The reason I know this is because leading that amount out of Egypt at that time would cause a drastic and immediate social uprising of a type virtually unheard of before the Great Depression in the United States of America.

Semi relevant, and I'm sure people have been linked to this already, but on the off chance I'd like raise the boards attention to the third alternative in this debate:
