Sluggy Freelance - Bad? Well? Is it bad?

But yeah, it's odd that all these things alone make bad comics. But smash them all together, and look what happens. Or, more likely, this is where everyone got all the ideas, and crapified them with their wonderous web comic skills.

I do hate Sluggy Freelance though.
And I agree with the whole 'female characters' point (in fact, I will get arrogant here and claim that YZ's point is a paraphrasing of a rant that I've subjected him to many times). I've yet to find a webcomic featuring a likeable chick. Or rather, featuring a chick I don't have to be male to appreciate.
Grr.

It describes a lot of webcomics pretty well, that was the point. See also Mac Hall, Something Positive, and about half of Keenspot.

EDIT: And a psychotic rabbit. And who doesn't love psychotic rabbits?

And as for the treatment of female characters in web-comics…

You might or might not like it, depending on your taste. I’ll have a look at sluggy freelance though.
The really ironic thing was that I discovered Yahtzee’s thread on web-comics the very day I started doing my own, but the main character isn’t me, so, meh…

Are you trying to prove my point? Because this comic does. Especially the one with the girl.

(Sigh) you know what we should do? For those who wish to participate, we could make the “FullyRambloMatic”web-comics, starring the forums regulars, who find themselves in wacky, far-out scenarios… you can do that… or you can ignore me… because personally, I think I’m suffering sleep lose.

Besides, methinks Yahtzee's exhausted his desire to work with a character using his own name, and Chyld is being banked for my own creations.

Speaking of women's roles in webcomics, I've yet to see a Fujiko Mine/Aeon Flux style character. Y'know, all commando suits and assault rifles. Meh. Refreshing change or over-the-top empowerment?

Setting: Future, Space Adventures, Lighthouse.
Overview: Beautiful, deviant male and not-so-pretty, arrogant female live together in a lighthouse in the middle of space. The lighthouse is maintained by homosexual oompa-loompas who live in the basement. Beautiful, deviant male beats not-so-pretty female regularly. Their cat dies in the third strip or so. They hate each other's guts. Beautiful, deviant male is always trying to find a way to get the hell out of dodge but fate always intervenes and so their lives go on, waiting for the next lost ship to come by. Oh, and not-so-pretty, arrogant female is witty and basically a pain in the arse. Yes, I said arse. Much prettier than ass... altho both stink.

But I can't actually draw things!
...oh, is it just the sprites themselves, or the cutting-and-pasting? Because sprite-spritecomics do indeed suck...
