Yeah, but I have a tendency to agree with PSM in the area of bad games. The only time I disagree is when they give a good rating to what I feel is a crappy game (ie: Fear Effect 2, Midnight Club 2, both got a "must buy" rating, but FE2 is horribly hindered by the worst camera ever, and MC2 is just boring).

A good place to decide about games is gamerankings.com. They include the average ratings from twenty-something magazines as well as user ranks. You get a less biased opinion when reading their site.

TV shows that cover game reviews aren't too bad either... they show videos of the gameplay which helps a lot...
but it's only good if the hosts are good tooo...

Who remembers that video game show filmed in Toronto. Kids would play SNES games on live on stage and compete for lame prizes.
I also remember way back another show that used to air, same premise as above but the system used was NES.
I miss those shows...

You know what's strange? Some friends and I were just talking about that show this week. It's called Video And Arcade Top Ten, and one of the people I was discussing it with seemed sure that it was still airing on YTV sometime on Saturdays or Sundays. Whether or not these are reruns, I am not sure. Oh, and you may also be thinking of Game Nation, but that was a terrible show with horribly annoying hosts, so I'll just assume that you meant V&A Top 10.

i bet no one here remembers Noah's Arcade, another lame show where kids had to perform video game tasks. the only one i remember is one where this kid playing Sonic 1 had to collect some-odd number of rings in a certain amount of time. this is not a dream! it was also on YTV

That's what it was called!!
That was the show when, for the bonus round, they went 'inside' the game and had to defeat a wizard or something? That was one of the greatest shows on television. I wanted to be on it so bad when I was younger.

i can tell you the absolute worst show about games was Gamerz with Phil Gasjdhlaksjdorro and that stupid chick. it sucked. they still air it early early sunday mornings. If only they still aired the Anti-Gravity Room.... i digress
anyhow, i'm still playing Drum mania. The hardest song (supposedly) i can do it Across the Nightmare on extreme (given a '56' difficulty out of a possible '100'). I'm working on doing Classic party 3 on Extreme (there's only one disorienting part that messes my shit up) and The Least 100 Seconds on beginner (which is actually the hardest song i have yet attempted). always keep in mind before you go "whoa" or something that the bass drum is still on automatic, and probably always will be.
