too many pictures over 500 pixels wide...
stretched threads are not a healthy place to generate humour.

Barend,
Barend.
Barend!
We need to get a petition going for George Lucas to release yet another trilogy so we can make fun of whatever Lucasfilm releases as a preview from their site during production. A pre-prequel or After Jedi trilogy, maybe have a by then Mark Hammil ghost stand next to the Jake Lloyd ghost at the very end. The one area Star Wars didn't explore was time travel, so I think there's a possibility there.....
Either that, or we're stuck with writing Haikus like my Barend one above.

Being slightly knowledgeable in the realm of poetry, if this was in person I'd beat you over the head for that (only kidding).
Haiku consists of seventeen syllables organized into three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables. They usually present an intense emotion or vivid image of nature, which, in the Japanese, are also designed to lead to a spiritual insight. Here is an example:
Under cherry trees
Soup, the salad, fish and all ...
Seasoned with petals.
(I think Slade is starting to wear off on me )

Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.
"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

So true. And it doesn't have to be over-critical if undeservedly so. All the Starlog items on the upcoming OT releases were great (early 80's, late70's) and really got folks excited for the big game. Of course Lucas has dropped the ball continually, and continued to score regardless. Disheartened fans saw through the Weekly Reader National Championships.
Sorry for the football analogy, but the Crimson Tide is 5-0 and rolling, baby.

Then you don't get the point and you need the beating over the head. Haiku became bastardized like many other art forms once the mainstream were made aware of it. The Barend Haiku fits especially in a Star Wars forum because of George's plunder of classic, orginal sci fi concepts mashed together in a series that's only engineered to make him money, especially the PT which dispenses with the story. I put more thought into my Barend Haiku than George Lucas did with the whole of the PT.

Ah, I suppose I've underestimated you when you put it that way. I only thought that you were making a joke.

Aww, come off it. Your's were great.
If anything, mine was pretty bad, and I had some others that I was going to do, but I realized they were bad too.

I seem to be joining this thread pretty late but I implore you to create a movie poster caption thread. The Star Wars ones were kick arse, fucking brilliant. More please .... mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooore. I would contribute but I am neither funny nor good enough at computers to chuck pictures into things and shit.
Others must do it and entertain me.
