2. "Don't seem to remember ever owning a droid. Very interesting..."
(a) Obi-Wan never owned a droid. Part of the Jedi Code involved owning no material possessions, or something to that extent. Yes, Obi-Wan did fly around with R4 in his Jedi Starfighter, but that didn't mean he owned him.
( R2-D2 is a droid. Droids seem to be mass produced. There could be thousands of droids in the galaxy that look exactly like R2-D2 so that would be a big assumption on Ben's part to assume this particular droid was R2-D2. Although I am sure at some point during ANH Ben learns R2's identification, I just don't see why he would care that much. It's not like him and R2 would sit down and have a friendly conversation about what happened in the last 20 years. He met R2D2 in ep1. R2 somehow became anikans by ep.2
obiwan was constatnly with anikan the whole time... he spent about 15 years with that droid, then only a little more time away from it... he was around that droid alot!!! and during times when many jedi were killed, worlds were changed, wars began...
I'm sorry; it really is quite inexcusable for him not to remember R2...
He never owned him; i know that, that's not the point...
He doesn't even recognise him... droids are mass produced, but they have registered designations that are unique. Only just, but they are...
3. "He was the best star-pilot in the galaxy, and a cunning warrior.
I understand you've become quite a good pilot yourself. And he was a
good friend. Which reminds me..."
How has Luke become a good pilot by this point? Is he absolutely unreal at driving a landspeeder? Podracing seems a lot more difficult than driving a landspeeder, so if you accept Ben's line "I understand you've become quite a good pilot yourself" then you must also accept his line that "Your father was already a great pilot when I first met him".
" I used to bull's-eye womp rats in my T-16 back home"-Luke (not referring to his land speeder)
Inexcusable. Being on the internet should not give you an excuse to write poorly. If you practice using internet slang consistently, the quality of your writing will decrease.
I hope you were being sarcastic there....
This isn't a UN address, this is a group of geeks, nerds, and dorks talking about Star Wars for Christ’s sake...
If meticulous attention to gramma and spelling in someway makes anyone here feel like they have established some level of prestige, they are one sad individual...
Pointing out spelling errors in someone's argument in an attempt to strip credibility from them is the height of mediocrity, and such people are far more deserving of ridicule then any troll...
