No one buys the midichlorian crap (unless they're crazy).
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

There are so many things I never understood the first time around (I guess I was young). I thought Boba Fett's name was Bounty Hunter.
Technically speaking, the force should not require any hand moving assitance. You should just will for it, and it should come. It's all mind power right? The fact that Vader needed to stick his hand out to choke people was probably done for the audience, so we would not be confused.
HE lost both arms? HA I though he lost just the one to Count Dooku.

Well the I think the answer is obvious. He's extending the stump to manipulate the force, and in order to do that, he must extend the robotic hand. Haha!

Both arms and both legs, Obi-Wans gonna slice and dice, slice and dice...
And come on J m, if you were a Dark Lord of the Sith you would know how to gesture dramatically when you kill one of your officers to ensure that everyone gets the message.

"I don't think you can manipulate the force like that with a robotic hand." - JM
"The force wasn't controlled by your hand, but by the mind. You focus your will, and the force responds. He just extends his hand because it looks cool, and so the audience can tell what he's doing." - floppydisk
