Would that be too much coincidence? Like I say, I'm just looking for input.

I'd be scared of an army of IG-88s marching my way. Of course, I'm a great coward and would be greatly frightened by an army of puppies, frogs or gerbils as well.

One thing on fanfic in general though, when people write their own PT fanfic, why not simply toss everything from the official PT aside? Don't let yourself be restricted in any way by Lucas prequel ideas. We knew nothing about the clone wars from the OT remember.
Example: No droid army, no Naboo, no "rule of two", no Qui-Gon, no Darth Maul, no Jedi Council, no midichlorians (goes without saying), no Anakin as a kid etc etc etc. The PT could be so very different than what it turned out to be and I just feel that often fanfic writers are too influenced by what's already been done. Obviously I'm not saying you're doing this, I just hope for more open-mindedness when it comes to the PT from fanfic writers in general. Thoughts?

I remember fighting IG-88 in the SotE game for N64. That was scary enough. He was hard. Not as hard as Boba Fett, but pretty hard.

While I agree with what you're saying, that kind of goes against what fanfic is: fiction by fans. Tossing out all the ideas of the PT would be something that a non-fan would do. So fanfic that shows none of the PT characters would more likely be OT fanfic. Star Wars is in a unique position as far as fanfic goes in this vein.
In my rewrite of the PT there would certainly be no Naboo, no battledroids, no Mace Windu, no Qui-Gon Jinn, no rule of two and CERTAINLY no midichlorians.
The rule of two is one of the more "out of left field" rules. While it holds true (to an extent) to some of the rules of martial training, limiting it in such a way is not wise. Masters rarely take on one student. One apprentice, maybe, but masters should single out special students for special training, not limit themselves to one.

I'm going to ask more questions like this, and then when I'm done, I'll post my final ideas on how to make better prequels.
Thanks, again, guys!!

Also in A New Hope, if you look behind the counter in the bar where Obi-Wan hacks the alien's arm off, you can see the head of an IG-88 being used for a lamp.

Funny, I thought IG-88 was the hardest and scariest villain in the game. I kicked Boba Fett's ass the first time I fought him. But IG-88 took me like a week to beat, and like you said he was one scary droid.
The idea of a droid army is an interesting one, though Lucas just did it so that he wouldn't have to show actual people dying. I don't know if I would keep that for a rewrite of the PT, because it does seem like much more technologically advanced than the OT, and there is no mention of it in the OT. You would think that the Empire would keep at least some of the battle droids for missions that didn't require thinking, so they could keep their best soldiers for the tougher missions. So maybe I would just go with a regular army, or a very inferior droid army.
Also, the fact that the Republic had no army was ridiculous. That would definitely get scrapped in my rewrite. To just leave yourself wide open to attack while organizations like the TF get an army big enough to take over an entire planet is ludicrous.
Also in A New Hope, if you look behind the counter in the bar where Obi-Wan hacks the alien's arm off, you can see the head of an IG-88 being used for a lamp.
Geek alert!
LoL, joking, unfortunately I actually knew the first part too, I think what you said is basically correct. I never noticed the IG-88 head though.

Like I say, I think Lucas has some good ideas, they just need to be presented and executed in a better, logical form.
As for the only six IG-88's (SNORT! HAHAHA!! I knew that, and I do not adhere to EU garbage. It's baloney). What I will adhere to is something that Lucas had mentioned (long before TPM was made) about why droids had to have restraining bolts on them...
Helena: Too true. In my re-writes, the Sith are fewer, and they do keep a low profile because they are, but they are taking out Jedi out slowly, which won't become evident until Episode II.
VWing: The idea of a droid army is an interesting one, though Lucas just did it so that he wouldn't have to show actual people dying.
Right, Lucas completely wimped out. In my re-writes, the droids are fierce and numerous, there would actually be scenes where the Alderaans/Gungans, fighting side-by-side would be losing---a lot of lives!! The heroes' return to Alderaan would be imperative! None of this "Oh, the people are starving to death in the last two days!" crap! The Mandalores count on the droids, but they know that if they are to successfully conquer, they need people to do it, not droids. They know the limitation of technology, so that's why they're raiding Alderaan....
WhoCares: No Stupid prophecy how about that!.
There is a prophecy, but it's not the stupid one Lucas came up with. This one should make a lot more sense, and give a lot more weight to the whole Skywalker family...
