And to recap, Sharia law would be silly and unrealistic to implement in the UK, and there isn't much of a chance of this happening, according to many. Jordan thinks Islam is shit and that its higher degree of institutionalization around the world and currently embedded in it and its practices is also dangerous, Spoon agrees that the institutionalization is bad, but doesn't want to condemn the whole religion and its followers (and her quest for PC/fairness is gay), Civ thinks many religions are shit in general (without naming any in particular), some people don't like some of the immigration results in the UK, and JM buggered an earthquake.
Now can we actually debate a little bit in here or stop, or do I have to close the topic to end the total nonsense? (Usually partial nonsense is alright.)

The fact if the matter is I have no problem with immigration I just don’t like people who come here purely for economic reasons and try to bring their old countries with them. I just don’t understand how if they loved their old countries that much they would have any reason for leaving other than pure greed. Its been barely 40 years since we managed to get rid of our own repressive religious laws so I’m surprised that some people think I’m out of order disagreeing with some one else coming along and trying to implement their in its place. The message here is if you want to be British I will stand at Dover and welcome you with open arms. And then we can go to the pub for a pint and a good moan about Gordon Brown.
That is one badass baby.

I'd imagine those people miss the familiarity of their culture and language. Leaving your own country and then wanting special laws that apply to only you and your subgroup is absurd, I most certainly agree, as is any law based upon religious beliefs, as I've stated earlier.

I spend a lot of time writing up a post for this thread but am now hesitant to waste it here if nobody is interested in debating it.
