Holy crap guys, sorry for another double post, but Hillary's on Tyra Banks' show like, right now. I was flipping through and came to it. She's gonna talk about Bill's infidelity and everything. I can't believe this, but I'm gonna watch me some Tyra Show. tongue.gif

I just think that after all the discussion we've been having in the Debate Club about this very subject, it might be interesting. tongue.gif

Edit: Meh... It was okay. If anyone is interested I can tell you everything that was said.

It was calculated, you know that going in.

Of course Huckabee's calculating too, with the aw shucks routine. But he doesn't have that kind of talent.

Dude, Obama's coming here in a couple of days, too! And I don't have class when he's here, and it's an even shorter walk. Friggin' sweet, I'm so gonna try to remember to go.
Unfortunately, he's not bringing any celebrities, like Huckabee did. (Unless Oprah is a surprise bonus, haha, goody)

I envy you, Spoony one.

So, I went. I got a great seat towards the very front. I'd estimate about a thousand of my peers were there. It was pretty good, I guess. He speaks well, he's funny, and he has good arguments against the people that say he doesn't have enough DC experience, or that his goals are too full of hope and he needs to get his head out of the clouds. His speech was inspiring and rallying and all of that, and I do like most of his goals (except the one about raising minimum wage every year - come on, that's just going to cause more inflation). However, yet again, he goes on and on about how we can bring about change, and change is awesome, and we can save the nation, and here's the changes he wants to make - but never ever does he give us his "hows." I mean, it's one thing to say, "here's what I want to happen." But in order to make that happen, you've got to have a plan. You can't just get to office and be like, "Okay, because I say so, now everyone has affordable healthcare!" And it magically happens. I want to know HOW he's going to do this. For instance, his plan to give everyone a $4000 college tuition stipend if they give back to the community through community service: Is he gonna tax us hugely to get that extra money? Or is he going to cut the budget for something else? If the latter, where's the cut going to be made? I need to know the ends AND the means, not just one or the other. It kinda seems to me like all his speeches are about getting the crowd excited, not getting them informed.

But it was still cool. He's good looking, and he's funny, and he has awesome taste in trench coats. If I can figure out how to get the pictures off my phone and onto my computer (new cellphone, and stupid me forgot my actual camera) I might put one or two up here.

And then at the end, he started at one end and went down to the other end, shaking hands - and I told you I got a good seat, right? Well, it was good enough to get a handshake! Yay! That brings my handshakes-from-presidential-candidates up to two. Unfortunately, so many people were trying to get handshakes that I got absolutely crushed for about 5 minutes - I was having trouble breathing and couldn't move any part of my body unless I wanted to hurt someone pretty badly and fight my way out (and with all those snipers on the roofs, and machine gun carrying officers placed at every ten feet in the crowd, that wouldn't have been a smart option). And for about 2 of those 5 minutes, my hands were squashed up against someone wearing an angora sweater, and I'm very allergic to angora. My hands are all purple and swollen and hurt very bad right now. sad.gif It's taken me like ten minutes to gingerly type this post. tongue.gif But it was probably worth it.

(Edit: Okay, thinking back, I don't know if those were machine guns. I don't know my guns apart from one another. But they weren't pistols. They were two handed guns that looked like they came straight out of Halo or something.)

So apparently, John Edwards is dropping out of the Democratic primary race, and Giuliani is (very very thankfully) dropping out of the Republican primaries.

I still need to figure out how to vote in my Blue primaries, but I'm definitely voting against Clinton.

Vote Ron Paul. He is the most down to earth candidate out of them all. I only wish someone like him was running for Australian Prime Minister. sad.gif

You would support Ron Paul. Libertarians unite, eh?

Why did Edwards drop out? He was in third place, and a lot of primaries haven't happened yet. He even beat Clinton in Iowa. Last I heard, he was upset that his home-state (SC) didn't vote for him, but wasn't going to drop out because he wanted to "give those that don't have a voice, a chance to be heard" or some crap.

I am quite glad Giuliani dropped out, too. Yuck and more yuck. Not that he had a chance to win or anything, though.

So, Slade: If you're planning on voting in the democratic primaries, it's pretty much either Clinton or Obama. Any other vote will sadly be a waste.

I missed my primary because I have no car; but it worked out because I looked at the numbers in my county and my vote wouldn't have changed anything.

Ron Paul can't and won't win. He's publicly dismissed the Federal Reserve, before winning presidency, which means he'll never win now.

He wouldn't have won in the first place. The only votes he would have gotten would be from ignorant college students that love the idea of legalizing pot, but don't know a thing about economics (or at least don't care yet, as they're still not fully inducted into the taxpaying workforce). He also has this commercial out that's about his plan to secure borders, where he's basically endorsing violence. I'm all for border control (it's not fair that they don't have to pay taxes but get the benefits of my tax dollars) but that's WAY too much.

I support Ron Paul becouse he doesnt want to bomb the rest of the world into the stone age unlike the rest of the candidates. Yes Obama too becouse his advisers are going to be the same ones Clinton had.

Exactly.

Words of Ron Paul

The Federal Reserve, an unelected and unaccountable private organization, pumps more dollars into the economy whenever it chooses. Because the public is forced to accept these bills, the Fed essentially gets away with legally counterfeiting. We cannot possibly expect the government to control spending when it has a blank checkbook.

http://www.ronpaul20.../inflation-tax/

He's the only person who addresses inflation. We all see it as normal since we've lived with it all our lives. But's not normal.

It's sad that a guy who's informed and knows what the true issues are with the US ecomony is labled as a crank only good for university 101 students.

Spoon, you bought into the very thing they want you to believe. Ron Paul will never be endorsed by big corporations or groups. He's against them and will never get the funding he needs.

"They" want me to believe? Dude, I've done the research myself. I don't even know what "they" want me to believe. His very website endorses some pretty shitty stuff that I don't believe in. Though I do like a couple of his ideas.
