I know it may sound crazy but after reading
the highlighted text i decided i would see it again,
and today i did. Worth every cent and then some
the scene is a good proper ending and necessary
like a "this is our ending but if need be we'll have a fourth...maybe" ending
if that made sense
And the film seemed shorter the second
time around but no less enjoyable.
i think i could watch it again
when it comes out on dvd

My understanding is that Calypso's last act was creating the maelstrom/arena instead of granting her favor to Davy Jones or the pirates (since at that point, both had done something to piss her off).
I just wish I could understand what the hell she was saying in that deep scary god-voice laughing at Barbossa before she exploded into a billion crabs. It's funny, I could understand her perfectly through the accent in both movies, but when they get to that one part I'm desperate for subtitles. Wish I knew what Sao Feng was saying when Elizabeth was being dressed up on his ship, too...
ALSO: There's a fan-trend to keep repeating or referencing certain jokes from each movie. In the first one, it was, "Why is the rum gone?", and the second was Jack and his Jar of Dirt. From what I've seen so far, I think the big joke with this one will either be something to do with Jack while he's in the Locker - i.e. the peanut, the goat (that was a whole world of "WTF?" for me), or the rock - or Davy Jones and his bucket.

And the peanut joke has definitely been going around here. A friend of mine has taken up carrying peanuts around so he can pull them out of people's hair, say, "Hmm! A peanut!" and eat it.

And I'm trying to remember if they told him they had Calypso on board, but Elizabeth was the only woman he had seen. So I think that's how it came up.
Coupld be wrong...I'm half-stoned right now and need sleep. I'll check tomorrow.

It is a mystery, both times i saw the movie i had
someone asking me what she said in that deep voice...
I also have no clue, but if i had to guess it was a swear.
my theatre had subtitles but you
needed one of those mirror screens to see them
The other reoccuring joke was the "Thank you Jack" to the monkey
Im not exactly sure but
i think its said like 3 times which is a
little much if you don't remember the original meaning

Doldrums and in the Brig
were purely for the Jack lovers.
It really had no serious effect on the story.
Except to validate his harem of fans.
But naturally to appease those less fascinated
by the dreadlock wonder the secenes were given a purpose.
but as my cousin says
who needs purpose when you have Jack
