I think you're going a little bit too far in the analysis. It's pretty much like taking the map of the DeFoe manor and pointing out the mansion made absolutly no sense architecturally speaking and the top floor's rooms' windows looked at the front of the manor, not the back of the manor (which cause a problem considering you need to cut the backyard's tree because it's in the way when you go from one room to the other using the window). Or that the manor is said to have a cliff just behind the backyard fence while in all pictures of the manor, the cliff is really far away from the the manor. Or that the "backyard" was in fact in the front yard. Which mean they could have easily shouted for help while the newscasters were there.
I don't think there is any explaination for it, I don't think it's one of the unanswered question Yahtzee lefts open for us to discuss. Best guess, Yahtzee official answer to that matter is "Oops".

When Welder Theo stuck his hand out of the box that was seen in 7DAS, was it in the beginning or the end? Or both?
I think neither. Or both. Doesn't matter really, as he was pretty much at the "heart" of John's mind, and everything was pretty messed up. He even said to himself "It's not real."
Wether you believe this or not, is up to you
I think it was just a 7Days "cameo" for the lovers of 7Days, since the game featured pretty much nothing else of it. Beside the intro. And Somerset. Whatever.
@Remnant:
If overanalyzing kills your fun, then just don't and let us do. Analyzing a game, even overanalyzing is what provides the REAL fun for me. Nothing better than playing a good game and then discussing every single pixel of it.

Actually, it was the caretaker guy who said that.

I mean when he just getting up from the coffin, he says something along the lines of "Put yourself together, it's not real." and the scene fades to the room with the bomb.
Where he's harshly confronted with reality xD

To correct Don Andy, it actually is in the end of the game. I remember it clear as yesterday, as that was the thing that first freaked me out like the hell, and after that I was all "Noooo! Yahtzee! That's LAME!". I guess Yahtz wanted to explain up that thing. It's really really in the very end of the game when the box is just lying there, then a hand comes out and the game cuts the scene off.

I've got a new theory that Chzo is in fact the reincarnation of Trilby when he was sent back in time and Somerset is his lovechild and the idol in fact originated in his pants and John DeFoe is made of mayonnaise.
Wait.. maybe the mansion was made of mayonnaise too? That would explain how it seeped so deep underground!
Or the ground was made of mayonnaise and the mansion was made of cheese? Was that why there were rats in the walls??
