Marriage?
I was just thinking about this, Do you think that Anakin and Padme really had to get married? I mean, would it be really horrible if Luke/Leia were illegit. I mean that would have made more of a suprise to Vader in ESB when he finds that Luke's his son! But would it be all that bad if Luke were born out of wed-lock
Just a thought... I mean the whole marriage thing( and courtship ritual in which Anakin speaks of wishes, love, and Padme's first) kinda takes away from the movie (and I think they shoulda cut those parts out) Wouldn't it be better if they were "Dating" (or seeing each other in private due to the Jedi's strict policy of no fooling around) in the movies, and she got pregnant and didn't know what to do (as most unwed mothers do)!
It would be a cause for intrigue! Plus, didn't the Jedi see their Marriage Certificate (or hologram, is it?) I just think that whole marriage thing, it well... would have been cooler plus a better storyline if they didn't have them get married becuase then (theoretically speaking) there would be no reason to show the fall in love (*wink wink)! And there would be more time to show Grievous/kickass Clone Wars combat!
Was that a priest at the ceremony anyway!? C'mon, I mean.... It all just subtracts,(well except for C3-PO and R2 being there, that was a major plus!) Also having them not be married would add more passion to there scenes in ROTS! Marriage gets down on a man.... I wouldn't know anything about that...
Thats it.

urgh. The notion of a sex scene between Anakin and Padme makes my skin crawl.
Why, I would really love to see it! Natalie is hot, and imagine what Anakin could do with his Jedi Powers- "force is my condom!"

I doubt Episode III would have been very effective without love as the motivating factor behind Anakin's conversion to the dark side.
Not only does it make the PT storyline more compelling, it parallels Luke's temptation in ROTJ (employing his anger and hatred to protect Leia from his father's threats).

I think we've been on this topic before. From what I've read about Lucas he would've had a problem with Luke and Leia begin illegitimate. I think it could've worked, but of the morals which Lucas has it goes against his ideas about children out of wedlock.
So, Lucas can't even transcend his ideals to try and tell a better story...
