After ROTJ what did Luke do about Vader?

Does he tell people that Vader sacrificed himself? Does anyone believe him?
Does he tell them he killed Vader and the emperor both?
What do you think Luke might tell people when they asked him how he felt about his father?
How do other characters view Vader afterwards, depending upon what Luke tells them?
Would people in general view Vader as being a good person, a bad person, or simply ignore him?
It's clear that Vader was supposed to be redeemed by his actions, and I am of the mind that he was. That his selfless good deeds that were not at all forced upon him or the result of manipulation, show his true spirit. That by sacrificing the life that mattered most to him willingly he made a heroic action that made up for his past crimes.

i don't think the average person would totally forgive vader for his past crimes. luke has a soft-spot for vader because he's his father, but the average oppressed person would not be so forgiving.
chef - you're absolutely right. at least save that helmet.

i was exactly the same...
and I think luke told everyone what happened...
I would have said I walked in there and killed everyone...
I mean, what the hell... everybody died in the explosion anyway...
I would have said as i arrived back:
"Hey everyone, I'm back... I stole another shuttle and flew straight into the laoding bay, where 86 stormtroopers where alerted to my presence, by the fact that i parked on top of one of the greysuits... i deflected their lazer fire with my trusty sabre until they were all hit with 'friendly fire' and cut my way through those elite red gowned guards... man those dudes can fight, but a sliced those mother fuckers up good!!! then i marched into the emporers office and said, 'Yo prune face! what up!?!' to which he said, 'your friends will fail, cause i know about the secret plans' and i said, 'no way man, my friends rock, and you planting the plans for the bothans was something we already new about, you see it was us who allowed you to aloww the bothans to get the damn plans in the first place, and that's why we're going to win, gramps' then I cut his head of and threw him down a well, old Darthy here had something to say about it of course, but I cut his hand of and said, 'now we're even' proclaim me your new emporer, or i'll kill you' so he did, then i killed him anyway!!! so yeah... behold your new emporer!!!"

Little Jerry- I imagine Luke would have told people as well. I just think it's kind of interesting that he was the only witness, so it's possible that the imperials could have thought otherwise, and certainly would believe otherwise about Vader.
Barend- You're a very, very bad man.

Struck me as a bit odd, though. Can anyone remember the name of this novel?

On the subject though, I think Luke would have told everyone the truth and I think they'd all believe him. There'd be no reason not to. Luke's an honest guy and everyone would know this.
However, I wouldn't expect people like Han and Leia to jump on the bandwagon and forgive Vader suddenly. I wouldn't if I was in their circumstances.
It's funny actually - it was on TV the other night and I thought as I watched it, "It's a good thing that Vader died. If Luke had rocked up on Endor and introduced him to all his mates, that might have been... ackward."

Well who would forgive the guy who tortured you, blew up your planet and/or froze you in carbonite?
I never got into the whole expanded universe thing. Once the credits rolled on the 3rd film that was it for me.
Hey JYAMG, been a while. I hate to bother you but I've got this thing in the screening room I'd like your input on. It's called "The Public Defender & The Blonde Widow". Click screening room and scroll down, it's probably third from the bottom now.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

In retrospect, the only thing I really disliked about them was that stupid crystal that could block the Force. That seemed dumb.

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"
All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.
