I loved Zoolander. I did not think it looked bad either. Male Super Models turned into assassins? Bellisimo!

Two movies that looked good but ended up being terrible
Brotherhood of the Wolf

I liked Zoolander as well.
I remember my brother got out Old School from the video shop, and I had nothing better to do so I sat down and watched it, expecting another stupid American Pie rip off like Road Trip*shudders*. But somehow Old School actually managed to be well written and completly different to what I expected the plot to be. Sure, it was still formulaic, but it was funny enough to ignore that.

I very much enjoyed dirty work even though it was a bit low brow. Norm Mcdonald's delivery cannot be beat.
And that movie with Janeane Garofalo and Ben Stiller about the misfit super-heroes was very good.
Oh, and Dogma was magnificent despite appearing to combine too many things.
Abd Let's not forget the original star wars films. Think of what THEY could have been!

Scary thought.
Regarding Mystery Men (the flick about the misfit superheroes), that should have been a good fun film with repeat viewing quality. However, because of unnecessary toilet humour, this is a film I will never watch again. Such potential, so needlessly wasted. Damn toilet humour in all its hideous forms!

I didn't like Mystery Men much. It should have been better, but it seemed aimed at too young an audience.

D&D was a film for which the sky was the limit... and they actually dug a ditch.

could have been worse, but were better than i expected.
