Intuition of plots states that it is very likely that the new prince is a gaurdian, protector, or shield of some sort.
The old prince was an avatar. (A worthy task of an Arrogant Man.)
The new prince is a tool.
Theo Dacabe would appear to have an excellent resume.
He is a building inspector, intelligent and used to obeying authority, capable of surving a plunge down an elevator shaft, and even of having intercourse afterwards.
Before this time, it is not unlikely that he lived a rather innocent, fairly normal existence.
Why did Yahtzee not choose a police officer or member of the Special Talent Project (assuming that organization still existed) to examine the building? No one would accuse him of being unrealistic - Yahtzee is such an excellent storyteller, he can get away with small inconsistencies, such as The Bridgekeeper's body being found below the bathroom tiles after having dragged himself there. Bones sink into dust over years, but they do not sink into floortiles (although a renovator might have simply tiled over him because his job is to tile, not to clean up the place.) However, Yahtzee infused that bathroom with such a potent energy that the realities of the situation were unimportant to the point of being invisible. The likelihood of a player realizing that police would not be sent to a somewhat dubious call is acceptably small.
Yahtzee must, then, have wanted to create the character of Theo Dacabe. A glasses-wearing beurocrat. Not a grizzled cop or experienced agent, but an innocent.
Innocents are unused to pain. Unbroken. Fresh.
The Bridgekeeper knew a life of nothing but pain.
It is possible that combining the two created a sort of dynamic, like attatching a piece of buttered toast to a cat's back to create antigravity (and a delicious snack.)
Therefore, it is not unreasonable to assume that this New Prince is more powerful than the old one, being a more effective vessel for pain.
Why would the King need a more effective Prince?
"Protect him always."
Chzo is not alone in his world.
In "Trilby's Notes," Cabadath states that the other 'demons' in Chzo's dimension speak of him with great fear. Fear leads to hatred.
Chzo has enemies.
What doesn't belong?
In Trilby's Notes there is a puddle of healing water dripping from the ceiling in the basement of the hotel. It is certainly not Chzo's creation.
It is possible that this was a flaw, a rift in Chzo's dimension, an open seam to some other place.
However, it is more probable that this was some other timeless being's attempt to assist Trilby. Otherwise, Trilby would have been stuck in Chzo's dimension, under the elemental's power, unable to send the idol into space. Being smaller than Chzo, that may well have been the best it could do.
I posit that the New Prince is a weapon against a growing army of timeless beings set upon the destruction of the King.

While I agree with most you said, I must intervene here. I don't think it was a rift in "Chzo's Dimension" as the place where Trilby shifted was simply the Realm of Magick, not the "Realm of Chzo". It was however a part, where the Prince's and Chzo's influence was great. As we can see with the poor guy that's lying at the bottom of the stairs, he too entered the hotel, but from the other side and sometimes shifted over in the Realm of Technologie.
The waterplace was probably simply a place Chzo/Prince overlooked. Just as a broken pipe in your cellar you notice when the cellar is already under water. Chzo is powerful, but not all-powerful.
I agree with you however on the "Chzo has enemies" part.
And as the old Prince was labeled "Arrogant Man" at the end again, he probably never was something else. He never was a Prince. Chzo just used the Arrogant Man to get a REAL one.

However, it's a mystery as to how the couple ended up in the hotel and stayed there for so long. They seem to have been quite calm when they arrived. Was the rain really so agitating as to take them to that place?
lt would take more knowledge of the realm of magick to be certain what was going on there.
That's a very interesting theory... Once I saw that Chzo's actions clearly contradict what was stated in the books, I assumed that the books were useless. However, the fact that a new one has started might indicate that some of them may tell something like the truth... I'll look them over again for evidence of this.

Actually, you should just play one game. 6 Days a Sacrifice SE. Preferebly with Commentaries on. Just did that. The whole game has a "You were all wrong" feeling about it AND features an explanation on why the New Prince was created in the extended ending. Also, I think it's cool that a lot of our theories were featured in the commentaries. It is a good feeling to know that Yahtzee actually reads our discussions
And it seems I was 90% right in my very, very first theory already.
Sadly, as this is the SE, which needs to be "paid" for, I can't really discuss this further, unless Yahtzee gives an official OK about discussing SE content in the public.
This may sound silly, but I think the extended ending make the game about 5 times better in my book. The normal release somehow just felt rushed. The SE one actually ends the series.
He should make a sub-forum only for donaters or something xD

After your review, I'm really excited about getting the SE. Would've gotten it yesterday, but life caught up with me. And by that I mean I had to stay up untl past midnight to finish a group project for my english class. I would have liked to have been playing the SE so much more... I'm so impatient, I can't even wait a day and a half.
(I agree about the sub-forum thing too... I keep wanting to scream about random theories I have, but most of them involve SE things [Trilby's real name] and I can't be yelling that to people who haven't paid their $15.)

I wouldn't mind spoilers, but I understand that that might prevent people who can afford it from donating. So yes, a donaters only passworded thread would be a good idea (although I'm not certain if that's possible with these forums.)

Of course, being able to float off the ground instead of walking like Tall Man, maybe he doesn't care.

Yeah, we discussed that already.

And after a second playthrought, m0ds' 6DAS soundtrack officially dethroned 7DAS as best music in the series. Having no puzzles to concentrate on and no story to decipher, just enjoying the present moment helped a lot to just pause to appreciate the music.
As for this whole special forums idea, it's hardly feasible as it would require 6 subgroups, one for each games and the GFW comic, plus we'd end discussing/posting the same things twice, once for the SE groups and a second time for the public forum, which would make discussions confusing and rather complicated to follow "Was it said in the SE thread or normal one?". And I think on the long term it would also ruin the "big family" feel of this forum if a lot of active posters were left outside all interesting discussions because they apparently prefer to eat pizzas.
We just have to wait until Yahtzee become millionaire and all special editions become freeware, or until all important details are ultimatly revealed in more games, like Malcolm's name was in Countdown 3.

Sorry to break it to you, but I don't think any of the SE's will reveal (I only have 6DAS SE) Trilby's real name... But I could be mistaken. I might have missed something.

Yeah. If you get all three, there's Trilby's whole name for you. And once you know it, several things make a lot more sense. But anyway.
I'm secretly glad that his name wasn't revealed in 6DAS... I was sure it would be. Now you still have to buy the SEs to get it. Hooray!
