6DAS Spoilers

I was playing through the game again, and I got to the part where Sam was killed, saw the dream that came after, and then something strange happened. I called Sam to get the code to see what was in the Hub, and while I was getting the code, the Welder came out of nowhere and started stabbing Theo.
I've played through this game 3 times now and that has never happened. Has anyone else seen this?

The screen in divided into 18 rectangles. The four on the left side of the screen randomly show images from 5DAS, the four in the centre show images from 6DAS, and the four on the right show images from 7DAS. When the credits end, one of the four rectangles in each section shows Trilby/New Prince/Somerset. Because of this arrangement, there is obviously going to be at least one 'space' which makes it look like a picture is missing; but it is in fact just another rectangle.

True, there's no reason for clones to remember their patron body's memories. But, when talking to the Trilby that broke out of the lab, he says he had died, then was drawn to the lab. Now, we know from the text about Frehorn's Blade that when somebody dies, their mind and soul are severed from their body. My guess is that when they cloned Trilby, the new body called to the soul (or part of the soul) which was then drawn to it. The memories, being part of the mind, were slower in returning, often needing external stimuli to call back Trilby's mind from whereever it had wandered.
It's also possible that the quantity of Trilbies split up whatever soul and mind was called back, which is why all the Trilbies had to be killed before the last one remembered anything useful.

Now, that doesn't explain why the old Trilby had the memory of sending the idol into space, but I still prefer to think he's just a clone anyway. It is very obvious (to me, at least) that the "cowering Trilby" is the last clone, because he was the one who set off the bomb. Then the bridge was created between the two realms, and Theo was sucked to the Magickal Realm... and the clone, being there when it happened, was sucked by the bridge as well. After all, it's very unlikely that the "cowering Trilby" is the real one, stuck inside Chzo for 200 years and still looking young, and only then starting to age... And what's more, if he was the original, why wasn't he stuck to the wall? Why would Chzo keep Trilby there, unchained and young, for 200 years and then suddenly decide to chain him to a "wall" and let him age away for the next two centuries? For me, that doesn't make sense.
I think it's much more realistic to assume that Yahtzee just made a small mistake or left this part intentionally obscure. After all, he made all the clones have Trilby's memories, so the way I see it, he just got a little carried away and forgot it was impossible for them to have the memories that happened AFTER the blood sample was taken. Or he even thought of that, but decided to ignore it anyway, just to leave another burning question behind (which, as I already said, just makes the story more satisfying). But I am positive that the old Trilby was the last clone. Of course, that's only my view of the story, and the beauty of this game is that it allows for different interpretations.
EDIT - Hey, I just re-read the posting about the Frehorn Blade, and only now I noticed SimeSublime never said that the blade was used on Trilby, just that the text about the blade was about the soul, mind and body going different ways. But I still stick to the genetic memory, I don't know, I like that theory as material for fiction, I even started writing a short story where it plays a major role...

If memory serves, the opening text for The Unicorn flashback in TN mentions that Owen (the Somerset from that time period) is anxious to get back to his wife and young child.
From what Canning says, the purification of the Soul isn't entirely about love; it's also about emotional support. Even if Theo didn't exactly love Janine (and I think he might have, in a desperate sort of way), she was definitely his last emotional lifeline. And even if he didn't directly kill her, he knew that whatever was driving her body was afraid of that hole, and he tricked it into taking her body close enough to it for the Prince to do his job. Although, now that I think about it... Why did the Prince kill her? Huh.
Don't feel bad, it took me until... reading your post, actually, to get that connection. Congrats on blowing my mind.
Sidenote: I know a lot of people think Theo is more or less characterless, but I really came to like him over the course of the game. Admittedly, he doesn't do much that we don't tell him to, but the things that the player makes him do do demonstrate a great deal of resourcefulness and fortitude. And since those actions are what Theo as a person would have done, I like Theo as a person. Yay Theo!

Personally I havn't seen that. Mabey its an easter egg or something. Does it actually add anything to these theorys or just complicate matters more? Is It the actual weldar or someone posessed by him? What happens when he stabs theo?
Or are you a dirty liar? Not an accusation, I belive you, but I require evidence.

She just suspects she might have done something out of sequence, like calling on the phone too early directly after the second dream sequence and before seeing Trilby in the storage room.

Hm. That could be what it was. I'll try it. Thanks HMC.
