Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

One of the tag lines for selling the VHS packaged set before the 1997 Special Edition hit the theatres there was this commentary I pulled off a site dealing with the various VHS releases over the years:
Next is the THX remastered release released in 95 by 20th century fox. This release contains a new preview for the Trilogy. Each movie contains 1 of 3 parts of an interview session between Leonard Maltin and George Lucas. This set was also sold separately and as a boxed set. As an interesting note, in the preview on this tape it says that this is the last chance to own the "ORIGINAL" version of Star Wars. This was obviously an attempt to trick people into believing that it wouldn't be possible to ever buy Star Wars again.
Hope the petitition works, and maybe we'll get more bells and whistles with the DVD HD release, but I think Lucas' mind is made up.

I've got those. If I ever get really pissy at my DVDs, I can just pop those into the VCR and not have to deal with all of those changes. I have to deal with tapes that have been watched countless times and are starting to get worn down.
