For instance: 10000 Looks like an epic of survival and war in prehistoric times, but instead its just "blargh these guys stole my girlfriend lets go fuck them up" Hey, assholes, that cliche went out of style back when hairbands still roamed the earth.
I also recently saw The Painted Veil. Previews indicated an english couple with marital troubles getting into hijinks with the Chinese nationalists and cholera, and a bald guy who might have been Mao. Instead, we get 2 brits sniping at eachother and then dying of cholera. There was no war involved whatever and the husband's death is utterly pointless.
Any other previews youve seen that seemed like they were for another film then they were?

M. Night Shyamalan is a hack. He seems to think he makes horror movies, but all he really does is make lame suspense flicks with a random twist ending. I'd like to say he's made a good movie in his career, but he hasn't. The only thing he's done even remotely well was "The Sixth Sense", which wasn't really good, but it was less horrible than his other movies.
I think the trailers for the second Blair Witch movie were misleading. I thought it was going to be a horror movie, and it wound up being a comedy. AM I RIGHT?

As far as misleading trailers, any crappy comedy, all horror, and most romantic movies are worse than their trailers. The End.
"Maybe artists shouldn't talk about their art."
"Well kids, I guess your father isn't a hermaphrodite."
"Izzy! enough with the rabid smootching!!"

I didn't hear you complain when they did this in Troy.
Epic Movie ever so slightly gave the impression it was a comedy.
The Blair Witch Project preview made it look like something, anything, happened in the movie.
I must say after the preview for the second Matrix film I was really prepared for all the stand around and discuss concepts already covered by the first film intermingled with a fucking 'we're all going to die' house party.

His movies have no re-watchability because they pivit so heavily on the twist.
But I though Unbreakable was awsome. The twist was just a twist and didn't change the reality of the story and concept.

As for Shymalan, I think plot twists can work really well if they're really part of the story and you hint at them subtlely throughout. That way you can rewatch it and see those little hints that you missed. But in some films its just tacked on for shock value or cuz the director cant think of an ending, and those just dont work.

so when i saw it i was actually surprised.
Oh it was horrible but it was less horrible than i thought
i envisioned another A.I. (which was a painful experience)
i still havent forgiven Spielberg for it
Yes the story was dumb but ive found that alot of families with kids/preteens
liked 10.0000 BC. They liked the non brutal action, the lack of love scenes
and the union of different peoples coming together to fight the same evil.
Diversities great but it aint gonna save the movie
though the Sabertooth Tiger was cool, ill give them that.
i wouldnt seriously recommend it and just for the record
I like The Village its a good movie
im not really into horror films and
The Village was a welcome surprise

and it holds everything together
